Robert Lee Guy, Chief Executive Officer
Robert Lee Guy has a distinguished thirty-one year career in probation, parole, and community corrections. He began his career as a line probation-parole officer in North Carolina and advanced through the ranks to Director of the N.C. Division of Community Corrections. Mr. Guy retired in 2009 after twelve (12) years at the helm of the agency, the longest tenure in the state's history. He led the agency through a progressive decade of change which included reorganization, expansion, and implementing a comprehensive Community Corrections strategy to support North Carolina's 1994 Structured Sentencing Act. Under his leadership, the agency doubled in size, revised all policies and procedures, and advocated the use of technology to enhance the agency's mission of public safety.
In addition, Mr. Guy has been a leader on the National and International front in the profession. He has chaired national committees for the Interstate Compact Association for Offender Supervision (ICAOS), one of which was a select committee on managing sex offenders across state lines. He remains today a Program Associate with the Vera Institute of Justice's Sentencing and Corrections Program. In that capacity, he has testified and advised legislative and correctional leaders in multiple states including Nebraska, Kansas, West Virginia, Iowa, Alabama, and California, as well as, the country of Scotland. He presently serves on the American Correctional Association (ACA) Board of Governors, a post he was elected to by his peers in 2007. He is the founder and charter member of the North Carolina Probation-Parole Association. He is currently working with the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) sponsored Norval Morris Project.

During his career Mr. Guy received numerous honors and awards, including:
- North Carolina Order of the Long Leaf Pine 2009 (Highest Public Service Award in North Carolina)
- First Recipient of the National Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities (TASC) Partnership Award, 2008
- Centennial Legacy Leadership Award, East Carolina University, 2009
- Winner of the George W. Randall Award as Outstanding Young Probation / Parole / Correctional Officer in NC, 1982
